Around the MAAC
EDISON, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) presents Around the MAAC. Around the MAAC features men’s and women’s basketball tipping-off Friday, with a total of 15 games being played. It also features Fairfield University who won the 2017 MAAC Field Hockey Championship with a 2-1 victory over Monmouth University last Sunday. Fairfield also clinched its third consecutive MAAC Volleyball Regular Season Championship last night with a win over Siena College.
Around the MAAC highlights the men’s soccer semifinals tonight, as No. 1 Fairfield hosts No. 5 Quinnipiac at 7:00 p.m. and No. 3 Canisius heads to Lawrenceville, NJ to take on No. 2 Rider at 7:00 p.m. The winners of each game will play in the MAAC Men’s Soccer Championship final on Sunday afternoon, hosted by the highest remaining seed. Also included in this week’s issue is the announcement of the MAAC achieving a 91% graduation rate for the 2007-2010 cohort, which is tied for fourth best in the NCAA.
