EDISON, NJ – 10 of the 11 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) women’s basketball programs tip-off the 2017-18 season on Friday, November 10.

Preseason Notes:
- Quinnipiac was voted the unanimous favorite in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
- Bobcats’ Aryn McClure junior guard/forward was selected as the Preseason Player of the Year.
- Quinnipiac ranked No. 1 overall in the College Insider Mid-Major Preseason Top 25. The Bobcats received 744 points and 28 first place votes. Quinnipiac also received votes in the USA Today Coaches’ Top 25 Preseason Poll.
- A total of 71 MAAC Women’s Basketball games will air on the ESPN family of networks.
- Marist placed second in the MAAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll with 109 points overall.
- Iona (81) ranked third in the poll, Fairfield (77) followed in fourth, and Monmouth (71) was picked fifth. Rider (68) placed sixth, in seventh place was Canisius (60), and Siena (55) in eighth. Niagara (39), Manhattan (34), and Saint Peter’s (11) rounded out the Preseason Coaches’ Poll in the final three slots.

The 2018 MAAC Basketball Championships returns to the Times Union Center in Albany, NY for the fourth year in a row and continues to be the host site for the Championships through 2019. The 2018 Men’s and Women’s Championships marks the 19
th time that Albany has hosted the event, more than any other location.
This year’s Women’s Basketball Championship game takes place on Monday, March 5 at 2:30 p.m. and airs live on ESPNU with the winner earning the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
