Fairfield’s Angus Hastings & Rider’s Elliott Otmani Named to United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men’s Scholar All-East Region Team

EDISON, NJ – Fairfield senior defender Angus Hastings & Rider senior forward Elliott Otmani were named to United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men’s Scholar All-East Region Team, as announced by the organization.

Hastings anchored Fairfield’s defense en route to the Stags winning its first MAAC Men’s Soccer Championship since 2011. Hastings was named to the All-MAAC First Team as well as the United Soccer Coaches All-Region First Team. This season, Hastings recorded nine points (four goals, one assist.) The senior was named 2017 MAAC Men’s Soccer Championship Most Valuable Player.

Otmani paced the Broncs with 20 points (nine goals, two assists) this season. Otmani earned All-MAAC First Team and All-Region First Team honors, leading the Broncs to the MAAC Men’s Soccer Championship game. Otmani is a two-time All-MAAC selection and tallied a goal and an assist in Rider’s MAAC Men’s Soccer Semifinal defeat of Canisius.
