FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Samantha Cooper was named both the Met Writers Division I Player of the Week and the National Jesuit Player of the Week after having an integral role in Fairfield's 2-0 stretch. Cooper received her third all-time selection by the Jesuit Basketball Spotlight and the second by the Metropolitan Writers. Cooper had the best two-game stretch of her career, averaging 24 points per game with most of those scored during crucial times in Fairfield's 2-0 week.

In the first game of the week, Cooper set a career-high with 24-points against UMass Lowell, with 16 of those coming in the second half. Her 5-for-10 shooting performance helped the Stags erase a 10-point deficit in the frame.

During the Jesuit Basketball Spotlight game, Cooper tied her new personal best with 24-points in the upset win at Boston College, the Stags' first win in Chestnut Hill since 2000. For her encore, Cooper also had her best game shooting, setting a career-high with six 3-pointers on 6-for-9 shooting. After the Eagles tied the game at 50-50 in the fourth quarter, Cooper hit three-straight 3-pointers to give the Stags a lead they would not relinquish. Cooper also grabbed 10 rebounds, extending her conference lead with her fourth of the season.

Cooper and the Stags will return home to welcome nationally-ranked Villanova to the George Bisacca Court at Alumni Hall on Wednesday at 7pm.
