MAAC Announces Week 9 Swimming & Diving Awards
Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Sara Nestrowitz, Marist
Sr., Washington Township, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy
Nestrowitz was named the Women’s Swimmer of the Meet at the H2Ounds Invitational held by Loyola University this past weekend. Picking up three individual wins during the two day event, placing first in the 500-yard free (5:00.82), the 1650-free (17:17.49) and the 200-free (1:54.43).
Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Zack Molloy, Rider
Sr., Toms River, NJ/Toms River North
At the Big Al Invitation, Molloy racked up four top-eight finishes during the three day event. Molloy placed fifth in the 50-free with a time of 20.56 and placed seventh in the 100-free as he clocked in at 44.95. He also finished eighth in the 200 free with a time of 1:40.97. Molloy was also part of the 400-medley relay team that finished in fifth. Molloy’s times in the 50, 100, and 200 free events are all top-times in the MAAC.
Women’s Diver of the Week
Vivian Mroz, Canisius
Jr., Denver, CO/Bronxville
The junior scored a 263.40 in the 1-meter event and on the 3-meter board, Mroz took top honors with her score of 269.02. Her scores rank second in the MAAC so far this season.
Men’s Diver of the Week
Trevor Hazelwood, Bryant
Fr., Corpus Christi, TX/Mary Carroll
Hazelwood earned top-two finishes in all three of his events over the weekend. Placing first in the 1-meter (435.50), second in the 3-meter (415.10) and 25 yard Synchro Diving Relay. Both of his scores rank in the top-three for male MAAC divers.
