Offensive Player of the Week 

Kimberly Watson, Wagner 

Junior, Utility, Pointe-Claire, Quebec, Canada

Junior utility Kimberly Watson registered a team-high 14 points on nine goals and five assists as the Seahawks went 3-1 at the Bison Invitational. Their only loss came in a hard fought 5-4 loss to No. 21-ranked Harvard University on Saturday, February 11. After drawing the penalty with only 33 seconds left in the third quarter, Watson rattled the cage with a 5M shot to tie the contest 3-3 entering the final stanza. She later went a perfect 4/4 in Wagner’s 16-3 victory over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, scoring a team-high four goals as well as registering two assists, one steal, and three sprints won. In the Green & White’s whopping 18-2 victory over Gannon, Watson went a perfect 4/4 in sprints won and added two more points on one goal and one assist. The standout junior capped off the weekend with three goals one four shots, two assists, and one steal in a 14-6 victory over Bucknell who received votes in last week’s CWPA Poll. 

Defensive Player of the Week 

Emily Riddle, Wagner

Senior, Goalkeeper, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Senior goalkeeper Emily Riddle led the Seahawks to a 3-1 record at the Bison Invitational. In a tough 5-4 loss to Harvard, the standout netminder registered nine saves, two steals, and five goals against in 32 minutes of play, the lowest GA thus far this season (also had five against Harvard on Feb. 4). Sharing time with the other Wagner goalies, Riddle then recorded two saves and one GA and five saves and one GA against Gannon and Claremont, respectively. The senior capped off the weekend  with six saves and one assist in a 14-6 victory against Bucknell who RV in last week’s CWPA Poll.

Rookie of the Week 

Jacqui Sjogren, Wagner

Freshman, Attack, Queensland, Australia

The rookie registered 14 points on the weekend and a team-high 12 goals. Her best performance came against Gannon where she netted a team-high five goals on seven shots. For good measure, she added an assist and one steal to total six points on the contest. The freshman scored in every game throughout the weekend, netting a team-high two goals in a 5-4 loss to Harvard where she also added one assist and two steals. After cashing in for two goals and three steals against Claremont, the Australian native knocked down a hat-trick to tie teammate Kimberly Watson for a team-high three goals. In addition to her offensive domination, Sjogren added defensively with seven total steals on the weekend.
