Rider University Men Claim Their First MAAC Indoor Track & Field Championship

New York, NY - The Rider University Men’s team captured their first MAAC Indoor Track and Field Championship at the New Balance Armory Track & Field Center in New York, NY.
The Broncs finished the night with a team score of 149 total points to edge out Monmouth University (146) by three points in exciting fashion. Iona College followed in third with 116 points while Manhattan College finished in fourth place with 113.5 points. Saint Peter’s compiled 45.5 points to finish in fifth place, Canisius College finished in sixth with 23 points, while Marist College finished seventh with 15 points. Rounding out the Men’s side in eighth place was Siena College, who finished with 14 points.
Daniel Gilligan of Monmouth University was named 2017 MAAC Men’s Rookie of the Meet in the field events and Jac Hopkins from Iona College was named the Rookie of the Meet in the track events. Bryan Sosoo of Monmouth University was named 2017 MAAC Men’s Indoor Track & Field Most Outstanding Performer in track events and Tyree Adams of Rider University was named the Most Outstanding Performer in the field events.
Bob Hamer of Rider University was named the 2017 Men’s Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year.
