Monmouth University Women Take Home Fourth Straight MAAC Indoor Track & Field Championship

New York, NY - The Monmouth University Women’s team earned their fourth straight MAAC Indoor Track and Field Championship, held at the New Balance Armory Track & Field Center in New York, NY.
The Hawks finished in first place with 208.5 points. Rider University finished in second place with a total of 137 points, while Manhattan College finished in third place with 92.5 points. In fourth place was Quinnipiac University with 67 points, Iona College in fifth place with 56 points, and Marist College in sixth place with 26 points. In seventh place was Siena College with 18 points and Saint Peter’s University and Canisius College tied for eighth place with 8 points.
Casey Sturts of Monmouth earned Most Outstanding Field Performer for her performance at this year’s championship. Also from Monmouth, Jordan Wildermuth was named 2017 Women’s Rookie of the Meet in the field events. From Iona College, Julia Flower was named the Rookie of the Meet for the track events. Jessica Lee of Quinnipiac was named the Most Outstanding Track Performer after breaking her own MAAC championship record in the 60m Hurdles, with a time of 8.45.
Joe Compagni of Monmouth University was named the 2017 Women’s Coach of the Year.
