Robinson, Kligys Earn Student-Athlete of the Week Awards

Men’s Basketball | Sophomore | Guard | 6’6” | Takoma Park, MD/Springbrook/Putnam Science

Andrew Robinson had a career-high 17 points in Quinnipiac men’s basketball’s road game at Rider on February  11. Robinson hit four straight three-pointers in the final five minutes to help a comeback attempt that came up short. The broadcast journalism major, had a 3.93 GPA in the fall semester after earning a perfect 4.0 last spring. He earned the MAAC Rookie of the Week Award as a freshman last season after scoring 15 points on five three-pointers in a win over Marist, which stood as his career-high until he passed it against Rider last week.

Sydney Kligys
Women’s Swimming & Diving | Senior | Fly | Lutherville, MD

Niagara senior Sydney Kligys closed her career as a Purple Eagle with a strong performance at February’s MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships in Buffalo, NY. Kligys helped set a pair of Niagara relay records in the 200 free relay (1:36.36) and the 400 free relay (3:33.45) at the MAAC Championships. She also placed in the top eight of three individual events. Kligys placed fourth with a career-best 52.64 in the 100 free, fourth in the 100 fly at 57.63, and fifth in the 50 free at 24.15.

A two-time MAAC All-Academic Team honoree, Kligys will graduate this May with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
