Rookie of the Week
Danny Long, Monmouth
Fr., 5-11, SS, Sellersville, PA/Pennridge
Long was a single away from the cycle on Sunday at FAU, knocking a three-run homer for the first long ball of his career in addition to a double down the line and a triple off the top of the wall, narrowly missing his second home run of the day. He was the first Monmouth freshman to start on opening day in seven years, and finished the weekend slugging .900 with a run scored, three RBI’s and a perfect three games at shortstop.
