Men’s Field Performer of the Week
Stefan Hoeller
Sr., Bergisch Gladbach, Germany
 
Hoeller defended his title in the heptathlon at the Metropolitan Championships on Thursday and Friday.  He sat in third place after the first day, but won all three events on day two to clinch the victory.  Hoeller posted a time of 8.44 seconds, then moved into the lead after pole vaulting 4.60m (15'1).  He cemented the win with a 2:49.11 clocking in the meters.  Hoeller won by just 82 points, finishing with a score of 5081.
 
Men’s Track Performer of the Week 
Bryan Sosoo
Jr., Laurel, Maryland
Sosoo won the 60m dash at the Villanova Invitational on Saturday - crossing the tape in 6.72 seconds.  Later in the day Sosoo placed fifth in the triple jump, clearing 14.05m.
 
Women’s Field Performer of the Week
Kathleen Cibuls
Fr., Blue Point, New York 
 
Cibuls won the pentathlon at the Metropolitan Indoor Championships on Thursday. In third place after the first event - the 60m hurdles - she moved into the lead with a 10.16m (33'4) effort in the shot put.  She then leaped 5.29m (17' 4 1/4) in the long jump to maintain her advantage heading into the 800 meters.  Cibuls then finished first in the 800 with a time of 2:29.32 to clinch the victory.  She tallied 3557 points, 166 more than second-place finisher Oksana Sokolova of Rutgers. 
 
Women’s Track Performer of the Week 
Tionna Garner
Sr., Trenton, New Jersey
 
At the NY Armory, senior Tionna Garner took second overall in the 500m behind Sage Watson of Arizona, who ran the fastest time in the world, breaking the collegiate record in 1:08.40.  Garner's time of 1:11.91 is the top in the MAAC, top time in the ECAC, and one of the fastest in NCAA.  It is the third fastest time in school history behind her own school record of 1:10.31 and second fastest time of 1:11.59 both at ECAC's last year.  On Saturday, Garner took fifth in the 800m with a time of 2:11.13.  Monmouth's women finished 10th of more than 30 schools competing, featuring Oklahoma, Duke, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Maryland, Lehigh, and Connecticut among others.
