Duggan, Lascelles Earn Student-Athlete of the Week Awards

Rider University senior center Julia Duggan, averaged 11.1 points and 8.1 rebounds per game this season. She recorded three double-doubles as Rider clinched the No. 2 seed in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference on Thursday. Duggan is tied for the conference lead with 10 double-doubles this season and enters the postseason recording three straight double-doubles. She shot 44 percent (21-of-47) from the field and recorded 77 percent (7-of-9) free-throw attempts. Against Monmouth University earlier in the week, she recorded 18 points and a career-high 19 rebounds. On senior day, she followed that performance with 18 points and 11 boards against Niagara University. Duggan ended the regular season with 13 points and 10 rebounds at Fairfield University.
She also has been a constant contributor for the Broncs over her last four years. Duggan currently ranks second in program history with 120 games played. She is also sixth in Rider history with 786 career rebounds. In the MAAC this season, she is tied for second in the league in rebounding, sixth in steals per game (1.8) and 12th in field-goal percentage (46.0). Duggan has grabbed seven or more rebounds 18 times.
Jermaine Lascelles, Saint Peter’s

Junior Jermaine Lascelles won a gold medal at the MAAC Indoor Track and Field Championships last week. He topped his personal best twice, recording 2.14m in the high jump which landed him ninth in the country for the best jump this indoor track & field season.
He then earned a silver medal in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.64. Lascelles was also a member of the 4x400 relay team that won a silver medal at the championship meet.
