Offensive Player of the Week
Riley Hellstein, Fairfield
Sr., A, Feeding Hills, MA/Agawam
The senior attacker recorded 14 points in two games this past week for the Stags. In the 13-4 win over Sacred Heart, she matched a career-high with nine points, while setting a new career-high in assists with five. Stags headed to Siena for their MAAC opener and came out with a 19-5 win. Hellstein posted five points in the win and led the team with four goals and three caused turnovers.
Defensive Player of the Week
Abigail Witczak, Marist
Sr., GK, Mendham, NJ/West Morris Mendham
Senior goalkeeper Abigail Witczak made a career-high 18 saves in the Red Foxes’ non-conference finale at UMass on March 25. She allowed just 10 goals on 35 shots faced and compiled a .643 save percentage. Witczak also contributed a ground ball and a caused turnover on defense. She is Marist’s all-time leader in wins and goals against average.
Rookie of the Week
Alexis Deaken, Siena
Fr., M, Orangeville, Ontario/The Hill Academy
Deaken recorded two goals against Bryant and one against Fairfield for a total of three goals on the week. Against the Stags, Deaken dished out one assist. She went 1-2 on free position shots this week. She had five draw controls, one caused turnover, and one ground ball for Siena.
