Player of the Week

Dan Shea, Monmouth

Sr., 6-2, OF, Wilmington, DE/ Salesianum

Shea led Monmouth to the MAAC’s only conference weekend sweep, hitting .714 with five extra base hits in seven at bats and eight RBI’s before an injury cut his weekend short. Shea had a four-double afternoon in the opener against Quinnipiac, driving in five runs, before launching his team leading fourth home run of the year in game two, a three-run blast. He scored three times and threw out two runners at second base from left field on Friday. All five of his hits went for extra bases.

Pitcher of the Week

Gavin Wallace, Fairfield

Jr., 6-5, RHP, Madison, NJ/Madison

Gavin Wallace threw his second-straight nine inning complete game shutout as he got the better end of a 1-0 pitcher’s duel against Rider. Wallace allowed just one hit through the first six innings and surrendered just five the whole game. Only two runners reached second base against Wallace who struck out seven and did not walk a batter.

Rookie of the Week

Brendan White, Siena

Fr., 5-11, RHP, Mahopac, NY/Mahopac

White dazzled in twirling his first collegiate complete game shutout, in pitching the Saints to a road win at NYIT Saturday. The freshman right-hander scattered just three hits over seven scoreless innings of work, while striking out seven without issuing a walk. White retired the final nine batters he faced, and six of his seven strikeout victims went down swinging.
