Offensive Player of the Week

Bryce Wasserman, Monmouth

Jr., 6-3, A, Southlake, TX/Grapevine Faith

Junior Bryce Wasserman led Monmouth offensively as the Hawks secured the 2017 MAAC Regular Season Championship. The Hawks remained unbeaten at 5-0 in the MAAC with the 11-6 win over Canisius. Wasserman scored five goals against the Griffs, including four in the first quarter, to extend his scoring streak to 12 games. He set the Monmouth single season points record (36), and leads the team with 25 goals. In two career games against Canisius, Wasserman has 11 goals. Monmouth owns the nation’s second-longest winning streak at eight games, behind Syracuse’s nine-game winning streak.

Defensive Player of the Week

Brian Corrigan, Marist

R-Jr., 5-10, GK, East Quogue, NY/Westhampton Beach

Corrigan preserved Marist’s one-goal win over Detroit Mercy on April 22 to help the Red Foxes clinch a MAAC Championship berth on their home field. He made 12 saves to hold off the Titans’ rally in the fourth quarter and his six goals allowed were one shy of his season low. Corrigan compiled a .667 save percentage on the afternoon after he faced 36 shots.

Rookie of the Week

Justin Schwenk, Monmouth

Fr., 6-0, M, Royersford, PA/Spring-Ford

Justin Schwenk had a successful game at the faceoff X, going 13-for-21 in the win over Canisius. The rookie midfielder secured a team-high seven ground balls, one shy of his career high. Schwenk’s performance was his sixth game with double-digit faceoff wins this season. Schwenk is 132-for-254 (.520) on faceoffs in 2017 and ranks second in the MAAC in faceoff win percentage. His 132 faceoff wins this year are third among freshmen in the NCAA.
