Trevor McCauley, Niagara
R-Jr., OF, Urbandale, IA/Johnston High School
In the Purple Eagles' 2-2 week, McCauley led the team with seven RBI and nine hits. He also has six runs scored, two doubles and one homerun. McCauley had two or more hits and one or more RBI in all four games. He finished the week batting .600 and with a .933 slugging percentage.
Pitcher of the Week
Tom Cosgrove, Manhattan
Jr., LHP, Staten Island, NY/Farrell
Cosgrove fired his complete game, two-hit shutout, punctuated by 10 strikeouts over 7.0 innings in Manhattan's 2-0 win over Canisius.Cosgrove, who needed just 98 pitches to complete his masterpiece, didn't allow a runner past second base and also induced eight groundouts while picking a runner off first. The Staten Island native got stronger as the game went on and retired the final five batters he faced via strikeout. He is 4-6 with a MAAC-leading 93 strikeouts, four complete games and a 4.54 ERA while limiting opposing hitters to a .269 average.
Rookie of the Week
Jake Burlingame, Canisius
Fr., OF, Horseheads,NY/Horseheads
The freshman had a strong weekend for the Blue and Gold, recording four hits in seven at bats, to go along with four RBI and a pair of home runs in two games against Manhattan. On Saturday the freshman had a pair of hits including an inside the park home run, and recorded three RBi in a 16-5 win over the Jaspers. On Sunday he returned to the lineup and belted a solo home run over the centerfield fence to give the Griffs a 2-1 lead. He also finished that game with two hits, including a crucial bunt single in the bottom of the ninth that helped push across the game winning run. He finished the two-game set with a .625 on base percentage and a 1.429 slugging mark.
