Women's Track Performer of the Week
Jessica Lee, Quinnipiac
Jr., Montgomery, NJ
Competing against some of the nation's best hurdlers, Jessica Lee showed out, posting a stunning third place finish in the finals of the 100m hurdles on Saturday afternoon from the prestigious Penn Relays. One day removed from becoming the first-ever Bobcat hurdler to advance to the finals of a Penn Relays event, the task facing Lee was one of the highest order. Awaiting Lee in the 100m hurdles final was a field that included the nation's third-fastest hurdler in Alaysha Johnson of Oregon as well as Olivia Haggerty (Oklahoma), Ebony Williams (Clemson), Micha Auzeene (San Diego State) and Sierra Brabham-Lawrence (SDSU), all of which were ranked among the Top 50 100m hurdles coming into the weekend. Facing the stiffest competition she has ever seen, Lee rose her game to another level as she matched a program record with a time of 13.56 seconds that earned her a stunning third place finish. Arguably the most-impressive individual performance in program history, Lee finished ahead of Brabham-Lawrence, Haggerty and Williams in the standings.
