Iona Alum Rosie Clarke Racing To Success Overseas
LONDON, ENGLAND– Iona College cross country and track & field alum
Rosie Clarke (Caterham, England) competes for Great Britain at the IAAF World Athletics Championships in London next month.
Clarke will be raising in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Her first race will be Wednesday, Aug. 9 with the first heat and the final race will be on Friday, Aug. 11.
While at Iona, Clarke was a two-time All-American. She placed fourth in the indoor mile (4:31.75) at the 2015 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships and 13
th in the 1,500-meter (4:18.46) at the 2015 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
She is the current Iona record holder in the indoor 800-meter (2:08.40), indoor mile (4:31.75), and outdoor 1,500-meter (4:12.10).
Recently Clarke placed first in the 3k steeplechase (9:36.75) at the Payton Jordan Invitational in Palo Alto, CA.Â

The biennial IAAF World Championships is the jewel of our IAAF World Athletics Series of events which also includes indoor, junior, youth, relays, cross country, race walking and road running during a four-year cycle of World Championships and/or Cup events for each of these types of competition.
