Rodriguez Appointed to NCAA Division I Women’s Rowing Committee
EDISON, NJ – Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Director of Championships, Lily Rodriguez, was recently appointed to serve on the NCAA Division I Women’s Rowing committee. The appointment is effective immediately and runs through August 31, 2021.
“Lily Rodriguez will be a tremendous addition to the NCAA Division I Women’s Rowing Committee with her knowledge of the sport and her experience serving as Co-Tournament Director of the 2017 NCAA Rowing Championship at Mercer Lake,” notes MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor.
As a member of the NCAA Division I Women’s Rowing Committee, Rodriguez will assist with developing policies and procedures governing the administration and conduct of the NCAA Division I Women’s Rowing Championship. She will also assist with the selection of the NCAA Championship field of play, participate in annual meetings, and attend the championship event.
“I am extremely excited about my appointment to the NCAA Division I Women’s Rowing Committee,” said Rodriguez. “Having had the opportunity to work closely with the MAAC Rowing programs for the last few years, and most recently serving as the Co-Regatta Director at the 2017 NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships, I have gained a sincere appreciation and respect for the sport. I am eager to get started with assisting the committee in continuing to advance the sport and student-athlete experience.”
Rodriguez was the Co-Tournament Director for the 2017 NCAA DI, DII, & DIII Women’s Rowing Championships, which the MAAC co-hosted with the Ivy League at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, NJ, from May 26-28. Along with the Ivy’s primary contact, Rodriguez oversaw all event operations and logistics.
Rodriguez enters her fourth year at the MAAC in 2017-18, and has served as the conference’s staff liaison to MAAC Rowing coaches, as well as the MAAC Rowing Championship Director, since 2016. She serves as the sport administrator for six MAAC athletic programs. In addition, Rodriguez oversees all championships and events held at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports, and the MAAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
