15 MAAC Track & Field Programs Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Honors
EDISON, NJ – 15 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Track & Field programs earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors, as announced by the organization today. Eight Women’s Track & Field programs and seven Men’s teams made up the 15 MAAC programs to receive the award in 2017.
The Women’s Track & Field programs at Canisius College, Iona College, Manhattan College, Marist College, Monmouth University, Quinnipiac University, Rider University, and Siena College took home USTFCCCA All-Academic Team awards. Siena recorded a league-high 3.61 GPA.
On the Men’s side, Canisius, Iona, Manhattan, Marist, Monmouth, Rider, and Siena claimed USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors. Iona tallied a 3.45 GPA, which was the highest amongst MAAC Men’s Track & Field teams.
A total of 360 NCAA Division I teams were highlighted for academic excellence by the USTFCCCA in 2017. 218 Women’s programs and 142 Men’s programs account for the 360 that received accolades across the nation. To be named an USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, a program must have at least a 3.00 cumulative team GPA.
