Marianne Reilly has named Whitney Swab as the Associate Athletic Director for Marketing, Fan and Donor Experience.
"Today's announcement culminates a thorough search process for an important senior level position," said Reilly. "I am pleased that Whitney is joining the Jasper Community. She has wonderful credentials and a personality to match. I look forward to working with Whitney and our staff in taking Manhattan College Athletics to greater heights."
Swab ascends on Riverdale after spending the last two and a half years at UMass Lowell where she worked in the Athletic Advancement office, most recently serving as the Associate Director.
Within her role, Swab coordinated the United in Blue campaign fund strategies for retention and acquisition of donors, oversaw the Basketball Courtside Club and managed athletic advancement while participating in strategic planning associated with the University's Development campaigns.
In her first year at UMass Lowell, Swab increased United in Blue Fund membership by over 300 members and discretionary money raised by over 40 percent. She also managed logistics, communications and marketing of athletic events and activities for the River Hawks while working with Alumni Relations to engage former student-athletes.
"I am incredibly excited and privileged to join Manhattan College and be a part of Jasper Nation!" said Swab. "Coming back on campus, you can't help but notice the growth and changes taking place. I look forward to working with talented, hard-working coaches and student-athletes to keep the momentum going. I would like to thank Dr. Satterlee and
Marianne Reilly for this opportunity and can't wait to connect with our passionate fans, alumni and friends to promote Manhattan Athletics."
Swab began her career in college athletics at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) where she worked for six-plus years, first as the Director of Marketing and Sales before being promoted to Assistant Commissioners for New Media. During her time with the MAAC, Swab increased brand awareness through social media, communications, video and marketing strategies. She also was the liason between the conference and all 11 member schools.
Additionally, she served as the primary contact with ESPN's Wide World of Sports studio for the league's championships and broadcasting initiatives, implemented on-campus student activities and developed and managed SAAC program efforts.
A 2008 graduate from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a degree in sports management, Swab has also served as the Assistant Tournament Director for the opening rounds of the 2010 and 2013 NCAA Tournament in Buffalo, NY.
