Iona's Archibald, Smith & Niagara's Hunt Earn MAAC Volleyball Weekly Honors
Player of the Week
Claire Archibald, Iona

Claire Archibald ended the week with a career-high 26 kills in Iona’s 3-2 victory against Quinnipiac to go along with 20 digs. The match helped her post averages throughout three matches of 4.15 kills and 3.00 digs per set. She also added five assists and five service aces along with 2.0 blocks toward a total of 60.5 points in 13 sets.
Libero of the Week
Rylee Hunt, Niagara
Sr., L, Cypress, CA/Los Alamitos High School
Rylee Hunt earns her third-straight MAAC volleyball Libero of the Week honor. Hunt averaged 8.00 digs per set to help Niagara to wins over Saint Peter’s and Rider to start MAAC play (2-0). In the sweep of Saint Peter’s, she had a match-high 20 digs for her fourth-straight match with at least 20 digs. The senior had her second 30-plus dig match of the season with a match-high 36. She also added a season-high eight assists. Hunt is now second in the nation in digs per set (6.41).
Rookie of the Week
Jamie Smith, Iona
Fr., S, Massapequa, NY/Massapequa
Jamie Smith earns her second MAAC volleyball Rookie of the Week award. She tallied 2.46 kills, 2.31 digs, 1.92 assists, and 1.15 blocks per set with a total of 41.5 points in three matches this past weekend. In the Gaels, 3-2, win against Quinnipiac, the freshman recorded 12 kills, six digs, and seven total blocks (all assisted) in five sets. She also added one service ace on the week.
