Courtney Betts led the Purple Eagles with seven points (three goals, one assist) in a (2-0-0) week. Betts scored once in the 2-0 win over Manhattan on Wednesday, September 20, and tallied a career-high two goals and added an assist in a 4-0 victory over Saint Peter’s on Saturday, September 23. Betts leads Niagara with four goals and 10 points on the season.

Michelle Iacono recorded two goals and four assists in the Broncs’ (2-0-0) week in MAAC play. The senior sent a pair of crosses into the box on goals from Kourtney Cunningham and Ellie Smith in a 3-0 shutout of Saint Peter’s on Wednesday, September 20, before scoring a pair of goals and assisting on two more in a 4-1 victory over Fairfield on Saturday, September 23. The Merrick, NY native has three goals and a team-best five assists on the year.

Shania van Nuland earned a pair of clean sheets in Niagara’s (2-0-0) week. The Purple Eagles earned a 2-0 shutout against Manhattan and a 4-0 shutout vs. Saint Peter’s to open MAAC play. van Nuland played a full 90 minutes in net in both games and had four saves in each game for eight total on the week. van Nuland improved her record to (3-1-0) on the season.

Carmen Carbonell earned her first two collegiate victories in net for the Broncs this week. She posted her first collegiate clean sheet against Saint Peter’s and followed up the performance with three saves in a 4-1 victory over Fairfield.
