Siena's Scarbrough & Iona's Abiola Claim MAAC Women's Basketball Weekly Awards

Kollyns Scarbrough claims her second MAAC Player of the Week honor of the season. The senior recorded her fourth double-double of the season at Canisius when she tallied a season-high 32 points and career-high 14 rebounds. The 32-point performance was tied for the second-most points scored in the MAAC this season. The guard has now scored 30 or more points in three games in her career at Siena. She shot 11-of-20 from the field, 3-of-4 from behind the arc, and 7-of-8 from the free-throw line. Her three made three-point field goals tied a career-high. The Jamaica, NY native also dished out two assists, registered one block, and two steals.
 
Rookie of the Week
Toyosi Abiola, Iona
Fr., G, London, England/City of London Academy
 
Toyosi Abiola earns her fourth-straight MAAC Rookie of the Week honor, and league-high seventh of the season. The freshman scored 17 points on 6-of-18 shooting, which included three three-point field goals. Abiola also tied a career-high with seven rebounds, six of which were offensive, against Monmouth. The guard dished out a career-best three assists.
