Canisius senior Jermaine Crumpton averaged 22.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game last week as the Golden Griffins scored MAAC home wins over Rider and Iona. In the win over Rider, the Niagara Falls, N.Y., native was one of four players to record double-figures, and he followed that effort by matching a season-high with 24 points to go with eight rebounds in the 85-78 win over Iona Dec. 31. Crumpton has scored in double-figures in 11-straight games and now has six 20-plus point efforts to his credit this season.
Rookie of the Week
Takal Molson, Canisius

Canisius freshman guard Takal Molson averaged 19.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game as the Golden Griffins opened MAAC play with two home wins over Rider and Iona. In the 77-76 win over Rider Dec. 29, Molson became the first freshman in program history to record a double-double in his first career MAAC game when he scored 18 points to go along with a career-high 10 rebounds. He followed that effort by scoring 21 points and grabbing nine boards in the team's 85-78 win over Iona Dec. 31. For the week, he shot 52 percent from the field, 60 percent from 3-point land and 71.4 percent from the free-throw line as Canisius started league play 2-0 for the first time since 2014-15.
