Canisius' Reese & Fairfield's Kavaliauskas Named MAAC Men's Basketball Weekly Award Winners

Isaiah Reese, Canisius

Isaiah Reese averaged 21.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 4.5 steals per game last week as the Golden Griffins scored a pair of road wins over Manhattan and Iona. In the win at Manhattan, the Miami, FL native scored all 22 points in the game’s second half, where he set a new career-high with six makes from three-point range. He was also credited with a career-high six steals in the win over the Jaspers. In the victory at Iona, Reese scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed six rebounds for Canisius, which is off to its first (7-1) start in MAAC play since 1996-97. For the week, Reese shot 43.8 percent from the field, 43.5 percent from behind the arc and 71.4 percent from the free-throw line.
Rookie of the Week
Aidas Kavaliauskas, Fairfield
G, Kaunas, Lithuania/SPIRE Academy
Aidas Kavaliauskas recorded his second-straight double-double with 14 points and 11 assists in a Fairfield win over Niagara. The guard made 5-of-8 field goal attempts and shot 2-of-4 from behind the arc. He also registered three steals and two rebounds.
