MAAC Announces Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards

Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Sara Ostensen, Fairfield
Fr., Staten Island, NY/Notre Dame Academy
 
Ostensen recorded wins in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:29.40), 200-yard (2:08.00), and 500-yard free (5:12.15) in a win against Iona on Saturday. On Sunday against Sacred Heart, she continued her strong performance in the pool with wins in the 1000-yard free and 500-yard free with times of 10:31.50 and 5:10.78 respectively.
 
Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Zack Molloy, Rider
Sr., Toms River, NJ/Toms River North
 
Molloy collects his third MAAC Swimmer of the Week award for his performance in the pool against Harvard University and Bryant University. Molloy won the 100-free with a time of 45.96, placed second in the 200-free (1:39.40), and 50-free (21.31). Molloy was also a part of the 400-free relay team that placed third with a time 3:10.77. 
                                                                                                                                                                               
Women’s Diver of the Week
Vivian Mroz, Canisius
Jr., Denver, CO/Bronxville
 
Vivian Mroz takes home her fourth MAAC Diver of the Week award of the 2017-18 year. Against Niagara, Mroz earned top honors in the 3-meter and 1-meter dives with scores of 282.15 and 268.50 respectively. The junior qualified for NCAA Zone Qualifier Diving Championships for her performance on the 3-meter board.
 
Men’s Diver of the Week
Peter Gallino, Marist
Sr., Watertown, CT/Sacred Heart High School
 
Peter Gallino won the 3-meter with a personal best score of 369.98 against Southern Connecticut. The score qualified him for NCAA Zone Qualifier Diving Championships. He also collected a win in the 1-meter dive with a score of 306.30. The senior earns his fourth MAAC Diver of the Week award.
