Monmouth's Tilghman & Hammond Earn MAAC Men's Basketball Weekly Awards

Austin Tilghman claims his second MAAC Player of the Week honor this season. The senior scored 20-plus points in both of Monmouth’s games this week, as the Hawks swept a pair of MAAC games for the first time this year. He totaled a double-double on Saturday versus Marist, with a career-high 24 points to go along with 12 rebounds and a team-high six assists and three steals. Tilghman made his final four field goals and was 11-of-11 from the free-throw line. Against Siena, Tilghman netted 20 points, recorded seven rebounds, and was 8-of-8 from the free-throw line to lead Monmouth to a victory. He averaged 22.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. The guard shot 54.5 percent from the field and was a perfect 19-of-19 from the free-throw line.

Deion Hammond, Monmouth

Deion Hammond is a two-time MAAC Rookie of the Week. The guard tallied a career-high 24 points in 26 minutes against Marist on Saturday, he shot 9-of-14 from the field and made five threes. Hammond scored 17 points and pulled down three rebounds at home against Siena on Thursday. For the week, he averaged 20.5 points, and 3.0 rebounds per game, and shot 46.4 percent from the field.
