NEW YORK, NY - Marist women's basketball redshirt-sophomore
Alana Gilmer has been selected as the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association's Player of the Week as announced on Tuesday.
It is the third honor she's won this week after being named the College Sports Madness MAAC Player of the Week and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
In a three game week for the Red Foxes,
Alana Gilmer averaged 20.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game while shooting 60 percent from the field, 60 percent from three, and 92 percent from the foul line.
The Red Foxes won all three games and Gilmer notched her seventh and eighth 20+ point games of the season in Marist victories over Niagara and Canisius. Against Canisius, Gilmer matched her career-high with 27 points and missed just one shot in the game, finishing 10-11 from the field, 2-2 from three, and 5-5 from the foul stripe.
Marist will return home after its three games in a week road stretch to host Iona on Thursday, February 1st. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
