Niagara's Rampado & Iona's Abiola Named MAAC Women's Basketball Weekly Award Winners

Victoria Rampado takes home the MAAC Player of the Week honor for the third time this season. Rampado scored a league-high 41 points on 17-of-23 shooting from the field and recorded 15 rebounds for her conference-high eighth double-double of the season on Sunday against Siena. Rampado’s 41 points were tied for the seventh-most in a conference game in league history. It was the eighth 40-plus point performance in MAAC history and the first since Iona’s Damika Martinez scored 41 points on January 18, 2015. The red-shirt senior recorded 17 field goals, which were tied for the fourth-most made field goals in a single conference game in league history. She tallied 20 points and 10 rebounds on Thursday at Quinnipiac and 15 points and 15 rebounds on Tuesday at Fairfield. On the week, Rampado averaged 25.3 points and 13.3 rebounds per game. She shot 60.0 percent from the field and 50.0 percent from three-point range.
Rookie of the Week
Toyosi Abiola, Iona

Toyosi Abiola earns the MAAC Rookie of the Week honor for a league-high sixth time this season and third week in a row. The guard scored 21 points to tie her career-high on 8-of-16 shooting from the field and 3-of-8 shooting from behind the arc on Tuesday versus Canisius. Abiola registered 13 points and a career-high seven rebounds against Siena on Thursday. For the week, the freshman averaged 14.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 1.0 steals per game.
