Monmouth Claims Fifth Consecutive MAAC Field Hockey Regular Season Title
EDISON, NJ – Monmouth University (10-6, 5-0) has claimed the 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Field Hockey regular season title. Monmouth is the regular season champion for the fifth-straight season and went undefeated in conference play for the second time in three years (2016).
The Hawks will serve as the No. 1 seed and host of the 2018 MAAC Field Hockey Championship after defeating Fairfield University, 2-0 Friday night. The MAAC Preseason Co-Player of the Year Georgia Garden Bachop scored the deciding goal in the Hawks victory; her seventh game-winning goal of the season. Garden Bachop leads the MAAC with 32 points, 14 goals and 2.67 points per game while adding four assists.

2018 MAAC Field Hockey Championship takes place at So Sweet A Cat Field in West Long Branch, NJ. Following the conclusion of the regular season on Friday, October 26, the other participating teams and seeds will be determined.
