EDISON, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced today the addition of Valerie McQuade as the Interim Director of New Media for Broadcasting & Marketing for the MAAC.

In announcing the addition of Valerie, Commissioner Rich Ensor said, “We are excited and fortunate to gain someone with Val’s experience on a campus,” Ensor added, “and having played professional basketball in Europe, Val was a great candidate for the position.”

The Broadcasting and Marketing position was previously held by Tess M. Romine-Black, who accepted a position with the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA). Romine-Black will be the first Director of Marketing for the WBCA after three years with the MAAC.

McQuade’s duties include oversight of league’s video streaming MAAC.TV and ESPN, development of the conference’s marketable elements, and assist in operation of MAAC-hosted NCAA Championships.

McQuade is a former student-athlete of the Niagara University women’s basketball team and served as a graduate assistant for the team for the 2015-16 season. As a graduate assistant, McQuade assisted the Director of Basketball Operations with marketing, social media, and statistics. McQuade also played professional basketball in Germany for the Chemnitz ChecmCats from 2016-18.

McQuade joined the MAAC as a Championships Fellow in August 2018. McQuade earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing in 2015 and a Master’s degree in Business Administration in Strategic Management in 2016 from Niagara University.
