Rider's Cunningham, Siena's Peffley & Fairfield's Hernon Awarded MAAC Women's Soccer Weekly Honors
Offensive Player of the Week
Kourtney Cunningham, Rider
Sr., Whitehall, PA / Whitehall
Cunningham had a goal and an assist in a 1-0-1 week in which the Broncs' clinched a MAAC Championship berth. Cunningham scored the Broncs' equalizer in a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Quinnipiac on Wednesday before assisting on Emily Curteis' go-ahead goal in a 2-2 tie against Canisius. Her 20th career goal pushed her into a tie for sixth in program history, while her 15th assist places her in fifth and 55 points are seventh.
Defensive Player of the Week
Kamryn Peffley, Siena
Sr., Webster, NY / Webster Thomas
Peffley got the start on her Senior Day and posted the shutout to help the Saints secure the program's sixth straight MAAC Tournament berth. Peffley made six saves in the double overtime victory over Manhattan Saturday, including a key stop in the extra session to record her third collegiate shutout.
Rookie of the Week
Brooke Hernon, Fairfield
Fr., Lawrence, MA / Central Catholic
Hernon recorded her first career multi-goal game which included the game-winner. Hernon's first goal came when she looped a ball from the top right side of the box and perfectly tucked it into the upper left side of the net. Less than a minute later, the 5-2 Hernon scored her second goal leaping for a header on a corner kick.
