Canisius’s Kennedy & Constanzo, Rider’s Walles and Iona’s Lopez- Silvers named MAAC Swimmers and Divers of the Week
Men’s Swimmer of the Week:
Lucas Kennedy, Canisius
So., Boston, N.Y/ Hamburg
In the men's competition, the relay team of juniors Kenyon Winkky and Kyle Griffin, sophomore Lucas Kennedy and freshman Kyle Kimerer started the day off by winning the 200-yard medley. Kennedy had a successful day with top finishes in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke events. The sophomore's time of 56.30 in the 100-yard breaststroke broke a 24-year-old pool record, surpassing the 58:18 mark set in 1994. The Golden Griffins posted a 179-112 victory over the Yellow jackets in the men's competition.
Men’s Diver of the Week:
Dillon Walles, Rider
So., The Woodlands, TX/ The Woodlands High School
Sophomore diver Dillon Walles scored big points and a solid day for the Broncs in a dual meet at Lehigh last weekend. Walles won the 3M with an NCAA Zone A-Qualifying score of with a score of 324.15. He ended his day with a second-place finish in the 1M with a total mark of 255.60.
Women’s Swimmer of the Week:
Willow Lopez-Silvers, Iona
So., University Place, WA/ Curtis Senior
Willow Lopez-Silvers take an overall first place for the Iona women, winning the 200-Freestyle at 1:56.27
Women’s Diver of the Week:
Vinnie Costanzo, Canisius
Jr., Lewiston. N.Y/ Lewiston Porter
Vinnie Costanzo placed second on the 1-meter board with her score of 248.16. In the 3-meter, Costanzo posted 265.57 points en route to a first-place honor.
