Monmouth and Rider split MAAC Field Hockey Weekly Awards honors

Offensive Player of the Week
Georgia Garden Bachop, Monmouth
Dunedin, New Zealand /  Queen Margaret

Georgia Garden Bachop recorded a 10-point weekend in a pair of Monmouth league victories.  The senior, who posted both game-winning goals for the Hawks, registered her first career hat trick and dished out an assist in a seven-point outing against LIU Brooklyn.  The forward followed up with a goal and an assist against Bryant. Garden Bachop has goals in five of the last six outings.

Defensive Player of the Week
Tess Coorens, Rider
 Leiden, Netherlands /  Visser 't Hooft Lyceum

Junior Tess Coorens continued her solid play for the Broncs as Rider went 2-0 last week. Coorens scored two goals and recorded a pair of defensive saves for Rider in wins over VCU and LIU Brooklyn. In a 2-1 overtime win at VCU, she had a career-high two defensive saves. She closed the week with two goals in a 5-2 victory over the Blackbirds in MAAC play. It marked her first career multi-goal game. She is currently second in the MAAC with nine goals.

Co-Rookie of the Week
Annick Van Lange, Monmouth
Sint-Job, Belgium /  Annuntia Institute

Annick van Lange had a breakout weekend for the Hawks.  The freshman forward scored four times, including a hat trick in the victory over Bryant, to finish the weekend with eight points.

Carly Brosious, Rider
 Drexel Hill, PA /  Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast

Freshman Carly Brosious continued to impress on the pitch for the Broncs as Rider went 2-0 last week. Brosious scored two goals and added two assists in victories over VCU and LIU Brooklyn. Both of her goals on the week were game-winners. In a 2-1 overtime victory against VCU, she scored in overtime. She also added an assist on Rider's first marker of the contest. She followed that up with the game-winning goal and an assist in a MAAC win versus the Blackbirds.
