Marist's Parker and Fairfield's Alvarez Named Pepsi Zero Men's Basketball Players of the Week

Brian Parker, Marist

Brian Parker led Marist in scoring and rebounding in both of the team's games last week. At Army West Point on Nov. 6, Parker had a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds. He shot 9-for-16 from the field and also contributed three assists. In a home win over Columbia on Nov. 10, he finished with 21 points, six rebounds, and an assist while draining two three-pointers in three tries. For the week, Parker averaged 23.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists while shooting .517 (15-for-29) from the field and .667 (2-for-3) from three-point range.

Netftali Alvarez, Fairfield
Fr., Catano, Puerto Rico/Miami Christian

Neftali Alvarez scored the game-winning basket with three seconds left in regulation to lift the Stags to a 60-58 win at Bucknell. He was the team's leading scorer in both games of a 1-1 week including #22/24 Purdue. The guard scored 16 points in each game by shooting 50 percent overall from the floor (13 of 26) and from three-point range (5 of 10). He averaged 16 points, five rebounds and two steals over the two games.
