Player of the Week
Stella Johnson, Rider
Jr., Denville, NJ/Morris Catholic
Junior guard Stella Johnson recorded the second triple-double in program history to lead Rider to an 85-67 victory over Mount St. Mary's last week. She scored a career-high 35 points on 14-of-19 shooting, including hitting 6-of-8 from three-point range. She also grabbed 12 rebounds and tied a career-high with 10 assists. Johnson also added six steals and one block. It marked the first triple-double in program history to be done with points, assists and rebounds and it was the first triple-double for the Broncs since February of 1995. The triple-double was the first for a MAAC player since January of 2005. Johnson has scored 20 or more points in five straight games dating back to last season. Her 35 points were two shy of a single-game program record and marked her first career 30-point game. It was also her second career game with 10 or more assists. She is the fifth player in Division I this season to record a triple-double.
Rookie of the Week
D’yona Davis, Manhattan
Fr., Bronx, NY/Truman
Davis scored a team-high 18 points against Stony Brook on November 17, going 6-9 from the floor and 2-4 from three-point range, while adding a rebound and two steals. She continues to start for the Jaspers, averaging 19 minutes per game. Over the week, she compiled a .444 field goal percentage and .250 percentage from three.
