Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Micah Ornelas, Bryant
Gr., San Diego, Calif
Ornelas' end of Day 1 was a microcosm of his weekend, as he won all seven of his races and broke a total of seven school records, including three individual events. He set new marks in the 100 back (50.93), 200 individual medley (1:54.12), 100 fly (48.81). Ornelas’ times from the Bryant-NJIT Dual Meet; 200 free relay - 3rd leg (20.95) - 1:25.15 (1st) 400 medley relay - 3rd leg (48.89) - 3:25.68 (1st) 200 medley relay - 3rd leg (21.40) - 1:33.65 (1st) 100 fly (48.81 - 1st).
 
Men’s Diver of the Week
Brett Palo, Canisius

The Canisius men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned a split at home Saturday afternoon at the Burt Flickinger Center in downtown Buffalo. The Canisius men topped Alfred, 174-112, while the women's team fell to Colgate, 158-141. In the men's diving portion, sophomore Brett Palo received top scores on the 1-meter board (274.72) and on the 3-meter board with a mark of 284.56.
 
Women’s Swimmer of the Week
 Camryn McHugh, Monmouth
Fr., Sicklerville, NJ/ Gloucester Catholic
Freshman Camryn McHugh has been Monmouth's top swimmer this season and continued her hot start to the season by winning three individual races and was part of one relay victory. She placed first all four times she entered the pool on Saturday and increased her season total to nine individual first-place finishes. In the meter pool, McHugh won the 200 back (2:23.17), 100 fly (1:06.00) and 100 back (1:05.77) and she swam the first leg of the 400 meter medley relay. The Hawks earned a win over Howard to improve to 2-2 on the season.
 
Women’s Diver of the Week
Vinnie Costanzo, Canisius
Jr., Lewiston. NY/Lewiston-Porter
The Canisius men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned a split at home Saturday afternoon at the Burt Flickinger Center in downtown Buffalo. The Canisius men topped Alfred, 174-112, while the women's team fell to Colgate, 158-141. Canisius junior diver Vinnie Costanzo earned her first sweep of the season. Costanzo's score of 248.09 took top honors in the 1-meter and she posted 250.42 points to first-place honors on the 3-meter.
