Canisius head men's lacrosse coach Mark Miyashita revealed the 2019 schedule on Tuesday, a 15-game slate that features five home games, nine road contests and one neutral-site matchup.

"We are excited to about this year's slate of non-conference games with the addition of Mercer, Hartford, and Air Force, which will continue to provide our program a competitive challenge," Miyashita said. "The men in our program look forward to playing against these new additions to the schedule as they prepare for another challenging conference schedule as we work towards defending our conference title from last year."

The Golden Griffins open the 2019 campaign with a three-game road swing that begins Feb. 9 at long-time rival Hobart. A two-game southern swing awaits Canisius after its season-opening matchup with the Statesmen that features matchups with Mercer (Feb. 16) and Furman (Feb. 19). A neutral-site contest against Hartford at the Pinnacle Sports Complex in Victor, N.Y., (Feb. 23) begins the opening month of the season to a close.

A visit from Mountain West Conference member Air Force on March 2 serves as the Griffs' home opener before they return to the road to face Robert Morris in a rematch of their 2018 NCAA Tournament Opening Round contest (March 9).

Central New York foe Colgate makes its first visit to the Demske Sports Complex since the 2008 season on March 16 while an April 2 contest Cleveland State serves as the final non-conference tilt on the calendar.

Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play gets underway March 23 when Canisius plays host to Siena. The Griffs will also entertain league foes Quinnipiac (April 6) and Marist (April 27) while traveling to Monmouth (March 30), St. Bonaventure (April 9), Detroit Mercy (April 13) and Manhattan (April 20).

The top four teams in the MAAC regular season qualify for the 2019 MAAC Championship, to be held at Tinney Stadium on the campus of Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

The semifinals are scheduled for May 2, while the championship game is slated for May 4. The championship game will once again be shown live on the ESPN family of networks.

Season and individual game tickets will be available for purchase in January. For more information, contact the Canisius Ticket Office at (716) 888-TIXX.
