Marist & Rider Lead After Day One of 2018 MAAC Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Championships

BUFFALO, NY – The Marist College women (113) and Rider University men (80) sit atop the leader board after day one of competition at the 2018 MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships. A day that saw four different MAAC records broken, two by the Fairfield women, the other set by the Rider men.

On the men’s side, Bryant University and Marist College are tied for second with 66 points, followed by Iona College with 58 points in fourth place. Canisius College sits in fifth with 56 points, Saint Peter’s University collected 54 points for a sixth place finish, and Manhattan College sits at seventh with 44 points. To round out the men’s standings Fairfield University completed the day with 42 points at eighth, Monmouth University with 38 points in ninth, and Niagara Univesity with 18 points in 10th..
 
For the women, following Marist are  Canisius and Rider both tied for second with 97 points. In fourth sits Fairfield with 92 points, followed by Niagara and Iona with 62 points. Siena College recorded 52 points for seventh place, while Manhattan and Monmouth are tied for eighth place with 44 points. Saint Peter’s sits in 10th with 28 points.
 
 
The 2018 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships continue tomorrow, February 15. with preliminary events starting at 10 a.m and finals at beginning at 6 p.m. For more information visit and a full schedule of events visit MAACSports.com/swim.
