Rider Men and Marist Women Still On-Top After Day Two

BUFFALO, NY – The Marist College women and Rider University men hold on to their leads after two days of competition. The Broncs men’s team won three events and broke two MAAC records, while the Red Foxes picked up two second and one third place finish on the women’s side.
 
The first Bronc to break a record was Zach Molloy in the men’s 50 Freestyle, Molloy finished with a time of 19.66, breaking a record that has stood since 2009. The Rider 200 Free Relay team continued their success beating their own MAAC record from last year behind Molloy’s final split time of 18.98 to finish with a time of 1:20.06.
 
Canisius College’s Travis Wright won the men’s 3M Dive and the relay team of Gilfillan, Pollack, Burns, and Anthone won the women’s 200 Free Relay. The Stags also picked up a pair of first place finishes when Sara Ostensen won the 500 Free and Maria Nitti took first in the 50 Free.

On the men’s side, Marist College is in second with 238 points, followed by Canisius College with 191.5 points in third, and close behind is Bryant University with 191 points in fourth. Iona College sits in fifth with 141.5, while Saint Peter’s University collected 114 points for a sixth place finish. Manhattan College and Fairfield University sit tied for seventh with 80 points. To round out the men’s standings Niagara University completed the day with 65 points in ninth and Monmouth University with 62 points in 10th.
 
For the women, following Marist (259) is Fairfield with 237 points and Canisius in third with 197 points. In fourth sits Iona with 169 points, followed by Rider who has 163 points and Niagara with 126 points. Monmouth  recorded 82 points for seventh place, while Siena College sits eighth with 78 points and Manhattan, ninth with 71. Saint Peter’s finishes out the women’s standings with 42 points
