Fairfield Women & Rider Men Lead After Day Three of MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships

BUFFALO, NY – Fairfield University overtakes Marist for first place on the women’s side collecting 232 points on the day for a total of 469 through three days. The Stags picked up wins in the women’s 400 Medley Relay, 100 Breast, and 200 Free. The Rider University men now hold an 84 point lead after day three, winning four of the six men’s events on the day.
 
Day three saw four record breaking performances, three on the men’s side and one on the women’s. Rider’s Justin Carey broke the men’s 100 Fly and 100 Back records, while the Bryant University relay team of Mays, Schulte, Boyadjian, and Curtin broke the men’s 400 Medley Relay record. Iona College Aly Chain broke the women’s 100 Fly record.

On the men’s side, Marist College is in second with 402 points, followed by Bryant with 343.5 points in third, and in third is Canisius College with 289.5. Iona sits in fifth with 239, while Saint Peter’s University collected 190 points for a sixth place finish. Monmouth University now has 125 points and sit in seventh and Fairfield University sits in eighth with 124  points. To round out the men’s standings Niagara University completed the day with 119 points in ninth and Manhattan College with 115 points in 10th.
 
For the women, Marist sits in second with 463 points, Canisius is in third with 354 points. In fourth is Rider with 330 points, followed by Iona who has 326 points and Niagara with 214 points. Siena College recorded 138 points for seventh place, while Monmouth sits eighth with 134 points and Manhattan, ninth with 132. Saint Peter’s finishes out the women’s standings with 60 points
