MAAC Announces Week Three Men's Lacrosse Weekly Awards

Offensive Player of the Week
Mike Fletcher, Quinnipiac
Jr., Attack, Syracuse, NY/West Genesee
 
Mike Fletcher tallied five points (four goals, one assist) in a 12-11 overtime win over No. 17 Brown. His four goals included an unassisted tally for the game-winner, when he came from behind the net on a restart, circled in front of the cage, and beat the Brown goalie over his right shoulder to give the Bobcats the win.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Will Vitelli, Quinnipiac
Sr., Midfield/Face-Off Specialist, Milford, CT/Foran
 
Will Vitelli had a huge role in Quinnipiac’s 12-11 overtime win over No. 17 Brown on Saturday, winning 19-of-27 face-offs on the day, including the one to start the overtime that led to the game-winning goal 48 seconds into the extra session. Vitelli also won seven of his face-offs cleanly to lead the team in ground balls.
 
Co-Rookie of the Week
Brett Erskine, Detroit Mercy
Fr., Attack, St. Catharines, Ontario/Western Reserve Academy (OH)
 
Brett Erskine recorded three points (two goals, one assist), along with three ground balls in Detroit Mercy’s comeback victory at Mercer. He assisted on the Titans’ sixth goal with just 1:23 left and then posted his first collegiate goal to tie the game at 7-7 with just 19.0 seconds left in the game. His second goal of the game was the game-winner in overtime.
 
Co-Rookie of the Week
Anthony Tebbano, Siena
Fr., Goalkeeper, Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa
 
Anthony Tebbano picked up his first collegiate win in his debut, as he stopped 17 shots in net. The freshman allowed 11 goals, but posted a .607 save percentage en route to the win. Tebbano picked up five groundballs on the day.
