MAAC Announces Week Three Baseball Weekly Honors
Player of the Week
Greg Cullen, Niagara
Jr., INF, Penfield, NY/McQuaid Jesuit
Greg Cullen hit .600 (9-15) with two home runs and six RBI in a three-game weekend for Niagara. Cullen went 6-6 with a homer, a triple, and three RBI on February 23, at Longwood. The junior homered and drove in three runs in his second game of the weekend at Longwood on February 24.
Pitcher of the Week
J.P. Stevenson, Canisius
Sr., P, New Glasgow, P.E.I/Vauxhall
J.P. Stevenson picked up his first complete game and shutout of the season as he went the full 7.0 innings, allowed two hits both singles, struck out six, and did not surrender a walk in with 81-pitch effort.
Rookie of the Week
Will Trochiano, Manhattan
Fr., INF, Morganville, NJ/Marlboro
Will Trochiano hit .385 (5-13) with one home run, two runs, and three RBI, while reaching base at a .429 clip. He singled and scored a run in the opener at CSUN, and then followed that up by going 3-4 with a home run and three RBI in the second game.
