Phil Paquette Named MAAC Director of New Media/Communications

EDISON, NJ – Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Commissioner Rich Ensor announced today the addition of Phil Paquette as a Director of New Media/Communications. Paquette will serve as the conference’s primary media relations contact for the sports of women’s basketball, women’s soccer, field hockey, women’s lacrosse, and softball.
 
“The MAAC is fortunate to add Phil Paquette to its staff given his past experience and record of success in the industry,” notes Ensor.
 
Paquette joins the MAAC after nearly three years as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Fairleigh Dickinson University. While at Fairleigh Dickinson, Paquette oversaw media relations duties for women’s basketball, women’s soccer, softball, women’s bowling, cross country, and track and field.
 
Prior to his stint at Fairleigh Dickinson, Paquette worked in the Athletics Communications office at Drexel University from August 2014-February 2015. As an Athletic Communications Assistant, he was the media relations contact for field hockey, squash, swimming/diving, and also assisted with women’s basketball game operations.
 
Over the course of his career, Paquette has volunteered at a plethora of NCAA Championships, including the Men’s Basketball First & Second Round in Providence, RI (2010), Men’s Basketball South Regional (2013), Men’s Basketball Final Four (2014), and Men’s Basketball East Regional (2017).
 
Paquette earned his Bachelor’s degree in Management of Sports Industries from the University of New Haven in 2012. He then went on to obtain his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Texas A&M University-Commerce in 2014, where he also served as a graduate assistant in the Media Relations department.
