Joe Ruggiero Named MAAC Director of New Media/Video

EDISON, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced today, that Commissioner Rich Ensor has named Joe Ruggiero the Director of New Media/Video.
 
“It’s great to have Joe Ruggiero join the MAAC given his experience at Monmouth University in video production and editing and with the WWE, which is a leader in sports marketing and broadcasting,” notes Ensor.
 
Ruggiero will assist the Assistant Commissioner for New Media in the marketing, promotion, video creation, and development of the MAAC brand through the leagues’ broadcasting platforms and the various forms of new and social media.
 
Ruggiero joins the MAAC after serving as a Production Assistant at the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). While at WWE, Ruggiero worked in conjunction with creative media (promotions), assisted with applying graphic elements to promos, and collaborated with voice over artists to compose scripts for producers.
 
Prior to his stint at WWE, Ruggiero spent the majority of his undergraduate career (2013-17) as a student worker in the Monmouth Athletic Communications department. While on campus in West Long Branch, Ruggiero worked in the production truck producing, directing, and technical directing Monmouth’s ESPN3 broadcasts for the sports of basketball, football, soccer, baseball, softball, and lacrosse. Ruggiero also contributed to the Monmouth Digital Network as he assisted with production and distribution of weekly interviews, packages, and highlights.
 
The Staten Island, NY native earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communication (Television and Radio) from Monmouth in 2017.
