Marist To Play St. John's in First Round of WNIT
EDISON, NJ - Marist College (20-13) will face the Red Storm of St. John's (16-14) on Thursday in the first round of the Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT).
Marist returns to the WNIT for the first time since the 2015 season when the Red Foxes fell to Temple University in the first round. This is Marist's 12th postseason appearance in program history.
The Red Foxes finished second in the MAAC this season with a 14-4 record in league play. Marist fell to Quinnipiac in the MAAC Championship game 67-58. It was the Red Foxes' 13th championship game appearance (conference record).
The Red Storm finished 9-9 in the Big East and fell to Creighton University in the first round of the Big East Tournament.
