MAAC Women's Lacrosse Play Commences Saturday
EDISON, NJ - The 2018 women's lacrosse season enters MAAC play this weekend with eight of the league's nine teams in action on Saturday, March 24.

League Notes
Siena College sports a four-game winning streak into conference play on Saturday at 4-3. The Saints have topped LIU Brooklyn, Central Connecticut, Lafayette, and St. Bonaventure.
Marist College and Siena sit at 4-3 to sit atop the standings. Iona has the most wins and sits at 5-4.
Both Iona College and Fairfield University rank sixth and seventh respectively in save percentage nationally at 53-percent for Iona and 56.9-percent for Fairfield.
Iona is also sixth nationally in scoring defense as the Gaels give up 8.56 goals per game. The Gaels are the only team in the MAAC allowing single digits per game.
Iona goalkeeper Shannon McCaffrey sits eighth in Division I in GAA at 8.51.
Four MAAC players rank in the top 10 in Division I in ground ball pick-ups per game. Kiera Kelly of Quinnipiac University is third (4.50), Jen Reininger of Canisius College sits fifth (4.14), McCaffrey of Iona is sixth (4.00), and Lauren Paul of Niagara University ranks ninth (3.75).
Alexis Deaken of Siena enters MAAC play as the top scorer in league with 28 goals and 35 points.
McCaffrey paces the circuit in save percentage at .531. Three other goalies are over 51-percent.
Last Year in MAAC Play
Canisius took home their third consecutive and sixth overall MAAC Women's Lacrosse Championship.
Fairfield University finished second last season. The Stags are 4-4 currently in 2018.
Canisius has been led offensively by Jourdan Roemer-the preseason MAAC Player of the Year-who comes into the contest with 28 points (17 goals and 11 assists).
The 2018 MAAC Women's Lacrosse Championship is a six-team championship played over two consecutive weekends. The first round games are hosted by the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds on Saturday, April 28.
