Canisius’ Crumpton & Niagara’s Dukes Named AP All-America Honorable Mentions
EDISON, NJ – Canisius College senior forward Jermaine Crumpton and Niagara University red-shirt senior guard Kahlil Dukes were named Associated Press All-America Honorable Mentions, as announced by the AP on Tuesday.
Crumpton and Dukes shared the 2017-18 MAAC Player of the Year honor, which marked the first time in conference history that there has been a Co-Player of the Year.
Crumpton was named to the All-MAAC First Team in 2017-18. He finished the season averaging 17.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. The senior ranked tied for fifth in the MAAC in points per game, 10
th in field goal percentage (48.1%), and tied for 11
th in free-throw percentage (76.3%). Crumpton was named MAAC Player of the Week on January 2.
Dukes was the lone unanimous selection to the All-MAAC First Team and was selected to the All-ECAC Second Team this past season. He registered 21.0 points and 3.3 assists per game for the Purple Eagles. He was second in the MAAC in points per game, tied for ninth in assists per game, first in free-throw percentage (90.9%), and tied for second in three-point field goals made per game (2.9). He claimed MAAC Player of the Week honors twice this season.
