All-Star event to air live on ESPN2 on March 29

CHICAGO, IL – Iona College men's basketball grad student TK Edogi has been selected to the Slam Dunk Championship roster for the 30th annual State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships at Bill Greehey Arena at St. Mary's University in San Antonio on Thursday, March 29, Intersport announced today. Edogi is one of eight men's college basketball players selected for the event that will air live on ESPN2 at 9 p.m. ET. He was invited to take part in the Slam Dunk Championship after being recognized as one of the nation's finest slam dunk performers.

Edogi helped lead the Gaels to their third straight MAAC Championship and fifth NCAA tournament appearance in the last seven seasons earlier this month.   He averaged 8.6 points per game with a team-leading 7.1 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game, appearing in all 34 contests and making 31 starts.  Edogi averaged more than 1.7 dunks per game and was featured on ESPN's SportsCenter four times this season.  On November 29, he earned the Top Play of the night with a right handed dunk in the second half of the victory at Ohio.  He was the No. 3 play on the SportsCenter's Snapchat after a win over Saint Peter's on January 5, with an off the backboard alley-oop dunk from teammate Rickey McGill that sealed the win.  Nine days later, Edogi earned the No. 5 play following a victory vs. Rider following another lob from McGill.  Most recently, his converted alley-oop from teammate Zach Lewis in the MAAC Championship game on March 5, earned him his fourth SportsCenter recognition of the season.

Intersport, producers of the event, invites 24 of the nation's elite men's and women's college basketball players to compete in the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships (eight dunkers, along with eight men's and eight women's shooters). The program showcases the dunking and sharp-shooting talents of the nation's top college basketball players during the Great Clips Men's 3-Point Shooting Championship, the Marine's Women's 3-Point Shooting Championship, the Samsung Battle of the Champions, the Dunkin' Donuts Slam Dunk Championship and the Applebee's Team Shootout.

A complete roster of participants will be released at a later date.

Over the last 29 years, several of the top players in college basketball have competed in the College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships including: Gary Payton, Steve Nash, Jason Terry, Kyle Korver, Bobby Hurley, Michael Finley, Damon Stoudamire, Allan Houston, Denzel Valentine, Yogi Ferrell, Wes Matthews, Cappie Pondexter, Katie Gearlds, and Kristi Toliver.
